A month in the life of a trainee teacher….
A very exciting June and July saw the launch of the Oxfordshire Teacher Training -Northern Hub at BGN. From September we will be training 18 associate teachers as part of their school centred teacher training. This will be a combination of salaried and tuition fee routes with primary, secondary and SEND specialisms.
In preparation for this we have been running a summer programme of sessions which include lesson observation, classroom techniques, behaviour management, special needs and vulnerable learners training and generally how to be a great teacher!
This training has involved many of our great staff from BGN and local primary schools supporting our next generation of teachers to learn the all-important skills for this great profession!
We have also had some fun along the way with making play-dough, reciting poetry, story-telling, memory techniques for Spanish, learning about atoms and hurdling technique!
If any parents or wider family and friends are interested in considering teaching as a career and have a degree or equivalent qualifications please contact teachingschool@bgn.oxon.sch.uk
We will share our ‘Get into Teaching’ evenings and School experience event dates for next term once finalised.
