British Values

Blessed George Napier promotes the British values of; democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs. As a Catholic School we recognise the opportunity these values present not only enabling our students to live out the Gospel, but also to prepare them for adult life in a multicultural, multi-ethnic Britain and the world beyond. Jesus teaches us to “Love one another as I have loved you”. In partnership with home and parishes we strive to develop a Christian community in which the Gospel values of compassion, respect, truth, service, and forgiveness are fostered.

Across the curriculum, students have the opportunity to develop the skills to access and share the information they need to make informed decisions, mindful of British values and the impact this information has to undermine these values. In some specific subject areas British values will be developed and explicitly expressed, including through our tutor time PSHE programme. More importantly, it will be permeated through our school ethos and the Catholic life of the school.
